Jean-Frédéric Morin is Full Professor at the Political Science Department of Laval University (Québec City, Canada). Before holding the Canada Research Chair in International Political Economy, he was professor of international relations at the Free University of Brussels (ULB) from 2008 to 2014.

Jean-Frédéric's research looks at international institutions. He is particularly interested in how international institutions innovate, interact and evolve. Empirically, he looks at institutions in the fields of trade, outer space, and environmental governance.

He is the creator of the TREND dataset (on trade/environemnt), the SAGE dataset (on space institutions) and he co-directs the IEADB (on environmental agreements) His publications have appeared in journals such as International Studies Quarterly, European Journal of International Relations, Review of International Organizations, International Interactions, Global Governance, Global Environmental Politics, and Review of International Political Economy.
